Tiger Mom?

Six precepts I want to teach my children? First of all. I want to have three kids. I have no idea how I came up with that number but it seemed like a perfect number for children. Although I am Asian, I do not want the title of Tiger Mom. Maybe a white tiger mum? Maybe a little bit of the tiger mum. But I do not want mothers who force children to do everything. But I want them to do what they want and love to do in their lives. Here are my six percepts I want to teach my children.

1. Humility
2. Respect
3. Honesty
4. Open-minded
5. Education
6. Passionate

Those six precepts. I learned that when I was New Zealand. I have a friend name Michael Jenkins (in his 60s). He has PH.D from Oxford University (organist). He is the humblest and kindest man alive. He is the definition of an angel on earth. I will never ever find a man like him. I have been close friends with him for three years and I have seen his life. I have always thought someone who is from those world prestigious university would be wealthy. However, Michael devotes his humble life to people. He plays the organ divinely. Living in a small apartment, Michael helps people in church with their English and their lives. He is so kind that everyone who meets Michael melts. He melts people's heart with kindness and honesty. He looks people in the eye that calms them. With his humbleness, he receives great respect from everyone. I have learned from Michael all those six precepts. His open mindedness makes him to open his heart to everyone. However, one can only be respected when educated. Michael is also a passionate man who loves people, music and God. By looking up at Michael as my role model, I want a passionate life as well. I want to do what I love and not what others want me to be. This is what I want to emphasize to my children. Life is short. Do not regret later. Because of Michael, many people come to church. They want to know about Michael's God. He is my dearest friend. I hope I can visit him this summer. I miss him dearly. I want to teach the character of Michael to my children.
